Our story
An alternative built by the research community, for the research community
ConferenceOS was created by BdREN — Bangladesh Research and Education Network — the national network connecting universities, research institutes and laboratories across the country. Working alongside the academics we serve, we kept hearing the same frustration: running a conference meant choosing between systems that were expensive, systems that felt a decade out of date, or both.
Tools like EasyChair, Microsoft CMT, Ex Ordo and OpenReview each solve real problems, and many committees rely on them. But organizers told us they wanted one platform that handled the whole lifecycle — call for papers, double-blind review, registration and payments, scheduling, hybrid delivery and published proceedings — without forcing a trade-off between rigor and a decent experience for the people actually using it.
So we set out to combine peer-review depth with a genuinely modern attendee experience: the careful conflict-of-interest handling and reviewer workflows that serious venues demand, paired with fast, accessible, multilingual interfaces for authors, reviewers and delegates. And because we believe access to good tooling shouldn't depend on a department's budget, the core is free for academic and non-profit events.

Peer review is the heart of scholarship
Good review is careful, anonymous where it should be, and accountable where it must be. Software should make thoughtful reviewing easier — clean assignment, honest conflict checks, structured rebuttals — never reduce it to a checkbox.
Open science is the default direction of travel
Transparent process, persistent records and accessible proceedings serve research better than closed silos. We support the spectrum from double-blind to fully open review, so each community can choose the model that fits its field.
